Spot Treatment
Exercise gurus
have long told us that we cannot “spot treat” our bodies. Exercise is good for
the whole body, but what can you do if you’re healthy, fit and trim everywhere,
but still have a pear-shaped body?
Ionithermie
helps "spot-reduction" and improves the look of those stubborn areas:
hips, thighs, buttocks and tummy. ,,
The ocean
contains each of the 104 trace elements and minerals essential to cleanse,
detoxify and perform all cellular functions. Seaweed in particular
contains an abundance of these natural components. Ionithermie
incorporates the purest form of algae in its processes, offering unsurpassed
results working specifically on boosting the metabolism, detoxifying and
re-mineralizing the skin.
Ionithermie
works by using algae, conductive thermal clay and two kinds of gentle
electrical stimuli. To maintain maximum results, Ionithermie has developed its
home care products, Les Complexes Biotechniques. These constitute all the
elements of Ionithermie.
Les Complexes Biotechniques, Ionithermie’s specialized professional product
line, includes active ingredients like ivy, bile extract, seaweed and amino
acids to break down and disperse the wastes of cellulite.
FAQ’s
Frequently
Asked Questions:
What should
I expect during my treatment?
We will begin with several questions
to determine your objectives and any medical conditions as some conditions may
contraindicate the treatment.
When we are ready to start the
service you will be given a disposable undergarment to put on. This is so
the ingredients can penetrate through the material.
We’ll do various measurements of the
body area you’ve elected to treat.
Your therapist will then follow by
dry brushing your skin and applying several all-natural products to your skin.
A mixture of the c lay and a lgae will be placed on the treatment mat, sandwiched
between two large gauze sheets. You will then lay
on the mixture. Two more gauze sheets will be placed on top of your
treatment area and covered with the remaining clay. During the process
electrodes will be properly placed into the clay. The gauze succeeds in keeping
the clay sufficiently in contact with your skin without creating any need for
showering afterwards.
Your therapist will turn the
hand-held machine will be turned on using a low setting. You will feel a
slight "prickly" sensation. During the treatment the intensity
of the stimulation can be turned up or down. After approximately
30-minutes, the clay mixture will be "peeled" back and measurement
will be taken. The treated area will then be massaged with Lait Pour Le Corps Moisturizer. The
gauze placed under the clay allows for easy clean-up; you can go straight to
your next appointment or activity!
What
medical conditions could prevent me from receiving an Ionithermie
treatment?
Listed below are some medical
conditions that would not allow a person to have an Ionithermie
treatment. When in doubt, it is always advisable to speak with your
doctor first.

How often
should I receive a treatment?
Many people see visible results after
only one treatment of Ionithermie. However, a more permanent result is achieved
with a course of treatments, at a rate of two per week. A course of 5
treatments is recommended for early stages of cellulite,
a course of 10 treatments for visible cellulite conditions, a course of
15-20 treatments may be necessary if the cellulite is hardened and solidified.
Does the
treatment hurt?
The galvanic stimulation can be
described as a tingly or prickly sensation, which does intensify as the stimuli is increased. The faradic stimulation contracts the
tissue, so you feel the equivalent of a mild muscle contraction. This, too,
increases as the stimuli is increased. 98% of our clients do not consider the
treatment uncomfortable, but any discomfort can immediately be reduced by your
therapist adjusting the controls.
Will I have
to shower immediately afterward?
No. The gauze keeps the clay from
becoming messy on your skin. In fact, there is a benefit to NOT washing off the
lotions we apply until as late as possible. Our clients fit their sessions into
all parts of their daily schedule, many of them returning to work immediately
afterward. Showers are available at our facility, however.
How long is
the session?
You should allot one hour for each
session, however the first session usually takes 1 ½ hours.
What can I
do to maximize results?
The basic good-for-you things apply
here, too: eat right, exercise regularly, drink plenty of water, particularly
cran-water, a dilution of cranberry juice (1 part
cran; 8 parts water). The same day, once you are home a 10 – 15 min. soak in a
warm tub with Epsom salt will heighten and prolong your results.
Must I
purchase the Home Maintenance Products?
No, but the Les Complexes
Biotechniques home care products will help you in maintaining your
results. The Ionithermie treatment is still working the body for 36-48
hours after your service. It starts off the chain reaction of moving
those stagnant toxins and distorted fat cells, therefore that
is the time to immediately begin using the home care products, increasing
or beginning an exercise program and healthy eating.
Do Home
Maintenance Products come with my treatment?
No, The
product line, Les Complexes, has several beneficial products that your
clinician will prescribe for your own personal home care regemine.
Is
Ionithermie all I need to get rid of my cellulite?
NO! There is no magic cure for
cellulite, but Ionithermie is a proven method of detoxifying cells, resulting
in cellulite reduction and smoother, firmer skin. For maximum results,
Ionithermie should be implemented in conjunction with a healthy diet and
regular exercise program.

Cellulite: Phases
& Stages
The
Real Skinny on Cellulite
Cellulite is a
French word adopted by alternative Practioners and Beauty Therapists simply
because there is no other word in the English language to describe the kind of
lumpy fat deposits that tend to collect on various parts of, usually the
female, but sometimes the male, anatomy.
It varies
considerably in severity and is most often seen on buttocks, upper thighs,
inner knees, abdomen and upper arms. Cellulite has little to do with
being overweight. One can be extremely thin and have cellulite. Conversely one can be extremely
overweight and have little or none. Microscopic examination of cellulite
reveals an accumulation of fat with a high amount of trapped fluid
content. This extra cellular fluid shows a high concentration of
metabolic waste, toxins and ingested or inhaled pollutants.
Hypertrophied
adipocytes, sluggish lymph and poor circulation all contribute to the
phenomenon of cellulite.
In
France cellulite has been accepted as a genuine medical condition for the past
40 years, so much so that anti-cellulite treatments are available on their
equivalent of the National Health Service. French doctors
believe that if cellulite is left untreated it can lead to more serious medical
problems developing such as water retention and arthritis.
Cellulite can
also be a result of poor circulation to and from the area. It is often
noticeable in areas of poor muscular development and use, areas that lack good
circulation to eliminate toxins and waste materials. As the connective
tissues are poorly supplied they harden, coarsen and re-arrange into bundles
which cause the appearance of the “orange peel” look.
Cellulite is
different from fat in that it is reluctant to respond to diet and exercise
alone. Ionithermie is a specific
treatment to work on areas of cellulite, and when combined with diet, exercise
and home care, it is extremely effective. Ionithermie targets the stubborn cellulite areas that
diet and exercise fail to reach.
Cellulite
Phases
Phase One: The skin will show no
visible signs, although bruises and cuts may be slow to heal. When
pinched the skin shows a slight "orange-peel' effect.
Inside
the body: a general slowing down in the flow of blood through the
capillaries and fluid into the lymphatic system.
Phase
Two:
The skin will show no visible signs, except for when sitting or crossing
legs. Broken capillaries and skin discoloration will be present.
Bruises may appear after trivial knocks. When pinched the skin shows
definite "orange-peel" effect.
Inside
the body: The capillaries are now weakened and breakdown under
pressure from the backing of blood and excess lymph fluid. Both now seep
off among the tissues, restricting circulation and lymphatic drainage further
still.
Phase
Three: Without pinching the skin, the "orange-peel"
effect or "mattress skin" appearance is present. The skin is
cold to the touch with broken capillaries and bruising occurring spontaneously
after trivial knocks.
Inside
the body: The lymph vessels are damaged and squashed by the
increasing pressure, which brings fluid to a virtual standstill, causing
permanent fluid retention. Protein separates out the fluid and congeals
into fibers forming a meshwork around the fat cells, trapping fluid and
creating a coarser "cottage cheese" effect.
Phase
Four: All the visible signs as in phase three, but there are
large lumps of fat, encased by fibers forming even larger honeycombs called
"steatomes" which distort the silhouette. When touched, the
skin has hot areas among the cold.
Inside
the body: Fat cannot be naturally removed from the cells because of
the poor blood supply, but continues to be stored in the cells. So fat
increases while the fibers get thicker.
